Sigh :-(

One of the cvs log entries for ncr.c (by cgd?) mentioned something about
walking around a problem with Quantum disks -- could that be relevant?

Will it help to try to connect one or two external disks? It would be somewhat
inconvenient to disconnect the current sd0, but I could do that if everything
else fails.

Any other ideas?
