Thanks for the timely response! I just mounted the root
after booting from the NIFTY install disk and changed ttys
so that I could telnet in as root. I'm getting ready to
rebuild with a stripped down kernel now :)
I'm sure that you spotted the problem exactly since I remember
seeing something about opms probe failing in the messages that
zoomed by... also, it does have a UMC chipset.

Sure, I would be happy to, what would this involve? Booting a -current
kernel?
