be removed as even now if the mailer in mailer.conf != sendmail, said
mailer won't start without sendmail.cf?

Ah.. under your new rc.d regime, I suspect you'll want a "postfix" instead
of a "sendmail" script and get rid of mailer/mailer.conf entirely?
