While installing gnome (from pkgsrc, not the most recent version but
anyway) I often get error messages about 'chown' not being found. Of
course chown is in my $PATH before I invoke make, so somewhere along the
way it gets lost. Has anyone else seen this?

As far as I am aware, all my shell startup scripts are careful to either
append to $PATH, or if they override it, to include /sbin and /usr/sbin.
And also, sysctl variable user.cs_path also contains these
directories...

Sometimes there seem to be other files missing, too. It is unclear to be
whether this is intentional, or bad.

Some of the messages I get:

chown games.games /var/games/glines.scores
