Yes; I've thought of moving my PPPoE stuff into the kernel practically
since the day I got it working.  Others have also made noises about
in-kernel PPPoE.  As far as I know none of them have actually gotten
anything working yet.

If I ever get time, inclination, and energy together, I may do it.
Someday.
