Is a side effect of -current not following current, but the release-1-5 
branch, that the tar files in 
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-current/tar_files/src do not contain the 
current but the release-1-5 branch?  The reason I ask is that having just 
spent an 1 and a quarter fetching the gnu.tar.gz and finding that it's not 
what I want is very annoying (the reason for doing this was to avoid the hit 
of having to cvs the whole of the gnu/dist/toolchain dir.  My theory being 
that it's faster to download 1 tar file than to fetch it all via cvs)

When will the sup current become current again?  Or is it possible to have 
the tar files created so that they really do have current in them without 
using sup?
