I'm not sure what you mean.
I got the process size by watching 'top' during compilation.
You should know how much RAM you got, but you can do
dmesg | grep "total memory"
if you don't; and
swapctl -l
will show you the current swap statistics.
man swapctl
will help you if you want to add swap (e.g. a swapfile).
