Hi,

as of few moments ago, the default pipe implementation used for
-current (and next release) is the new, faster one based on
John S. Dyson's code.  The code has been changed to use UVM Page
Loan facility for "big" transfers, further boosting the performance
for such i/o.

The code has been fairly thoroughly tested during last months on
virtually all NetBSD architectures, so I don't expect any problems.
If, however, you'd encounter any, please send problem report via
send-pr.

The old socketpair-based pipe implementation is available with
option PIPE_SOCKETPAIR. This option is primarily usable for
installation kernels or kernel for small memory machines, since
kernel with this new pipe implementation is bigger by some 7KB.
