The patch doesn't install as-is any more, but I patched the sources
manually, built a kernel, rebooted and got this almost immediately:

Feb 17 01:10:31 lintu /netbsd: wi0: inquire operation timed out; disabling

So I guess I'm affected by the problem.  I'll know more in the morning..
have to suspend myself for a while now.
