Is anyone using the JIT under Java 1.3 or 1.4 on i386? One of my
users has been pulling his few remaining hairs out trying to make
it go. Here's his description:
-----
Running certain applications seems to hang the JVM when in using the HotSpot
JIT. Actually, the java process seems to go into an endless loop, taking up
99% of the cpu.
Both JServ and Tomcat hang with the JIT but work without it. However,
something simple like HelloWorld works with the JIT.
starting java with a jit: java -server
starting java withoug a jit: java -classic

The machine in question:
NetBSD grok 1.6B NetBSD 1.6B (GENERIC) #1: Wed Jun 26 21:43:10 EDT 2002 groo@yog-sothoth.old-ones.com:/usr/obj/i386/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386
Any advice appreciated. Sorry if I should know this.
