Because that would make sense and eliminate the traditional
flamewar regarding whose technology is bigger. It might
even lead to a document describing how to add an authentication
to the current nsswitch implementation, and who knows
what that might lead to!

p.s. Yes, I want LDAP authentication too. No, I don't
know what the problems/benefits/limitations of this
approach are. Yes, I know it's possible because other
platforms have done it. No, I don't know how to do it
myself. Yet.
