Well, yeah, but if I build distribution sets and store over NFS, I can

Okay, I should probably just get the system on -current before thinking
too much more about my options.  I am not familiar with everything that
I need to deal with, and decided to get input before jumping in.  Now,
it's time to find the diving board and hope that the water's deep enough.
*grin*  Then I'll be able to see where I'm going and make a concrete plan.
