perhaps this information is useful for someone:

experienced a problem with atabus driver in -current (daily of 13 dec
2003) on i386:

runs fine on two systems (although reports DMA soft errors on one for
wd0), but on a system (the only one where also SCSI is present), the
install kernel has problems:

this line appears for about 10 seconds:----

atapibus0 at atabus1: 2 targets

then kernel stops:----

uvm_fault(0xc0964820, 0, 0, 1)-> 0xe
kernel: page fault trap, code=0
Stopped in pid 4.1 (atabus1) at 0xc023d3b0:     repne scasb   (%esi)
db>

the system is a celeron with aha 2940 also installed.

is there any workaround (? sure, no hd driver ?) known?
