Not currently, although I have seen the version fc-cache in XFree 4.3.0
SIGSEGV on a directory with a large number of TrueType fonts (236).
That problem went away for me with the version of fc-cache built
with src/x11 (XFree 4.3.0.1 (?))
Have you tried build a version of tools/fc-cache with debug symbols
and determine where it's failing ?
