Assuming by "die" you mean "be replaced with a C program," the only 
question appears whose which(1) we should slurp. The OpenBSD version
combines the functionality of both which and whereis into one source
file, whereas the FreeBSD version doesn't. This is the only important
distinction I can make between them.
