is the `make depend && make && make install` deprecated
in new -current, as trying to making "depend" in compile/KERN
fails with:

# make depend
depending the kern library objects
make: cannot open ../../../../../../lib/libkern/Makefile.

never saw such as troubles :-\
any suggestion?
