Ok. It appears as though I ran into some problems with build.sh
for this particular kernel, but somehow managed to unconfuse it
and build a kernel that works. I made a few changes to your config
which were unrelated to acpi support. I did notice that there is
only one mb com port now - com3 - with acpi. Any way to get the
other recognized?

A few things I checked measure very slightly faster than with a
GENERIC kernel.
