Ah, yes, the BCM4306.  Craptacular.  We really should support the ATI AGP 
interface, though.

The kernel config is important.  There is a known interaction between ACPI and 
IDE on some machines, but I can't tell if that's likely to be the problem 
with your CD-ROM without seeing the config.
