Not much, admittedly, but it makes sense to me not to have a place in my
$PATH unless I'm going to use it.
On the other hand, if we were to install X11 in /usr/local and blow
/usr/X11{,R6} out of the equation entirely, I'd find the "everything
goes into /usr/local" approach to make much more sense.
