current-users: issues with sip0 / timeout

I'm trying to use NetBSD on my laptop (Fudjitsu-Siemens Amilo) and when 
trying to assig an ip address to the sip0 interface I get sip0 timeout 
(for dhcp & static ip config).
Does anybody  now how to get it working correctly ?
