|  amanda did work for a while in 2.0, but something changed and I haven't
|  been able to track down what it is.  It's not a PIPE_SOCKETPAIR issue.

  Okay, I'm opening a PR on it so that doesn't fall through the cracks.

  So it happens with amanda, manual dumps are indeed fine. What does
amanda do that is special? It pipes output through gzip and its dumper,
but that is about all I can think of?
