just a small hint: this seems not to work for pserver:

[13:50] root@grid-wn3:/usr/pkgsrc $ cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.fr.netbsd.org:/cvsroot login
Logging in to :pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.fr.netbsd.org:2401/cvsroot
CVS password:
/cvsroot: no such repository

However, using ssh it works fine. :)
