Hi David,

To grab screens and arbitrary windows, I use xwd, which comes with
XFree86.

To convert from the xwd dump file format to something else, I use
the convert program from pkgsrc/graphics/ImageMagick.  I also use
the ImageMagick utilities to scale up/down while maintaining the aspect
ratio.

To view images, I use the xview program from pkgsrc/graphics/xli.

The rare times with I need to do something fancy, or if I want to print
an image, I use pkgsrc/graphics/gimp, which doesn't pull in *all* of
gnome.
