Considering the lack of stability that we saw in the early (=3D=3D pre-3.2)
3.0 stages, where many compilers weren't even able to produce any bootable
kernel code, and looking at the way gcc 4.0 goes right now to have just the
same problems, I hope this isn't going to happen.

gcc 3.4 is stable and produces code that is at least executable. I'd wait
for gcc4 to stabilize before switching to it, or we end up in a Gentoo
position.
