Isn't fsck's "reboot on hot root" sufficient? The only problem I can see
with it is possibly inconsistent directories, if someone is reading
directories while roll-forward is running. This would be a bad problem if
it occurred, but I don't think it occurs given the way our rc works?
Alternatively, yes, fixing the in-kernel roll-forward would not be an
insurmountable task.
