I built a new kernel from 20061029 sources (yesterday) and now I can't
build the userland without the system freezing at a random point of
build.  During the freeze, the system does not respond to serial console
or remote connections, but it still pings.  I waited for an hour, but
nothing happened.  I can break into kernel debugger (by sending a break),
but I'm not sure what to do there.  Trying to sync the disks freezes the
machine completely and I have to hit the reset button.

My previous kernel (built 20061020) was rock solid.
