current-users: xterm tty ownership

   For a couple weeks I've been getting:

utmp_update: /dev/ttyp?: Is not owned by you

every time I open an xterm. ls shows:

crw--w----  1 user  tty  5, ? Jul  3 07:32 /dev/ttyp?

If I ssh into the box, the ownership is set properly.

   Any ideas?
