Re: NetBSD fibre channel drivers
Hello. We've been using the Intel gigabit fiber cards using the wm(4)
driver in production for a number of years. We're using the dual-port pcix
cards, but any of the intel pci-based ones should work. These work in
autoselect mode or nailed up manually. I wrote a bunch of patches for the
wm(4) driver, and those have been in NetBSD-4, NetBSD-3.1 and 5.x and
current. We've been very happy with their performance and they've been
quite reliable.
They probe as follows:
wm0 at pci3 dev 1 function 0: Intel i82546EB 1000BASE-X Ethernet, rev. 1
wm0: interrupting at ioapic2 pin 0 (irq 10)
wm0: 64-bit 133MHz PCIX bus
wm0: 256 word (8 address bits) MicroWire EEPROM
wm0: Ethernet address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
wm0: 1000baseSX, 1000baseSX-FDX, auto
