I understand your headaches.
(pmaps of amiga and atari have been merged finally,
 but there are still many duplicates)

Probably "update one example port, and ask port-* ML for the rests"
is acceptable, as done on vmlocking and yamt-idlelwp etc.

If no one updates an orphaned port, it indicates EOL of the port.
