hdaudio issues
Hey, I've a vaio laptop and haven't had a lot of luck with the azalia
driver, nor have I had much with the hdaudio one, until I tossed up a
kernel and modules from -current dated from the 14th of December 2009.
Now, I don't really want to spam everyone with this, but there really
isn't anywhere with an exception maybe of tech-multimedia to post this.
Now, previous kernels never quite got the setup right for the poor vaio,
its a VGN-SZ340P. It currently has audio out only from the headphone jack
and only balanced to the left headphone/speaker. Ideally, I'd like the
built in speakers to work, as well as have the balance be happy.
Below I've included the dmesg outputs and mixerctl -a from both the
hdaudio, and the azalia setups. Everything else, with an exception of the
builting camera works fine (Not that I expect the camera to work), the
firewire can get a bit flakey from kernel to kernel, but the bluetooth,
speedstep CPU, 802.11g, the burner, SATA and laptop PC Card, and
ExpressSlots all work perfectally, as do both the 'power saving' intel
video and the fancier nvidia video. In case anyone wondered.
I've also not had a chance to attempt to test the recording setup/input
ports, but am willing if someone wishes that tested as well. Thanks for

Now, the azalia outputs from the last test of -that- driver as well are
below. It contains some more outputs, maybe it could help someone.
Its was the one from the PR; I don't recall the number, but I did do an
azalia-debug with it as well.
