Coda does caching of both reads and writes for offline operations.  So
you can not only look at files without the network, but make changes,
and have them be reintegrate to the server when you are back on the net.
And, it supports replicated servers.

I am not up on the details of nfsv4, but I thought it lacked support for:

  server replication
  read caching that enables off-line reading
  write caching that enables off-line writing

afs has the first two properties, but not write-back caching.
