Okay, I located the change that causes this:

revision 1.194
date: 2010/01/08 12:07:08;  author: rmind;  state: Exp;  lines: +46 -66
Simplify device G/C: use global list and config_alldevs_unlock_gc().

The revision 1.193 (with the pmf(9) changes cherry picked) works ok.
