I did, and it compiled. Reassured by that, I removed a few more, which
compiled as well, but some of the libraries came back as indirect
dependencies anyway. Since Xorg and/or Xnest was linking to them, I
thought it would be better to keep those as direct dependencies (X11,
Xau, Xext).
In the end, I eliminated these:
#.include "../../x11/libXaw/buildlink3.mk"
#.include "../../x11/libXfixes/buildlink3.mk"
#.include "../../x11/libXt/buildlink3.mk"
and the resulting Xorg still runs as before.
