Hum, asus says for the M4A88T-M
"AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz"

while for the M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3
"Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 and 200 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066Mhz.
With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz"

so there is a difference between the working and non-working motherboard
in this area.
Did you try with 1066MHz memory, or to lower the memory speed in
the bios (if this is possible, I don't know) ?
