Second stage bootloader (i386) hangs on ls command for ext2

Hi,

If my ext2 partition is hd2e then when I do
  dev hd2e:
  ls
Boot loader hangs.

From man page it's not clear if it should support ext2 (as any other
FS, because there are dosboot, cdboot, etc), but there is some code
and SUPPORT_EXT2FS for boot2. But it shouldn't hang anyway.
