amdtemp not working?

I've got AMD systems on various motherboards, and I've noticed that, on 
the three systems with SB850 southbridge, the amdtemp0 device always 
reports a CPU temperature of 0C.  The system I have with a SB710 reports 
a valid non-zero temperature.  On all four systems, the itesio0 sensor 
also reports a valid CPU Temperature.
