*If* we're going to do this (I am not advocating one way or the other), it would realistically need to be in 6.1, because (hopefully) 6.2 will not predate 7.0 by much. Also, if we're going to, Someone(tm) would need to write the verbiage to include in the 6.1 notes.
Realistically speaking, 6.1 release is 2-3 weeks away. There will likely be an RC3 by the end of this week(ish). Text could get into the release notes for (at most) another 2 weeks. (Sounds kind of tight to me, given that we still need to reach consensus - though I support only having one DHCP client in base)
