So, what you really want is a vnd device that doesn't use a file as
a backing store but some partition. That way you could see the content
of the partition as another virtual disk (including label, and multiple
inner partitions) and you could also layer multiple vnd devices.
And no, that doesn't work (yet). Too much magic in the handling of
device vnodes.
