While attempting to verify kern/53019 I tried to boot a -current kernel from today's sources, unsuccessfully. It seems to load everything, then clears the display, prints out about two or three lines of text, and then the display goes completely black (not even a cursor). It obviously panics, because in a short while it reboots. FWIW I have a GTX 1050-Ti (nouveau) video card, running in "vga" mode (I don't enable vesa at the boot prompt). And it works just fine on a 8.99.22 kernel (as long as "fine" doesn't imply "video acceleration"). I have attached a copy of my dmesg output (gzipped to avoid any limits on message length!) in case it helps. +------------------+--------------------------+----------------------------+ | Paul Goyette | PGP Key fingerprint: | E-mail addresses: | | (Retired) | FA29 0E3B 35AF E8AE 6651 | paul at whooppee dot com | | Kernel Developer | 0786 F758 55DE 53BA 7731 | pgoyette at netbsd dot org | +------------------+--------------------------+----------------------------+
