Re: NetBSSD audio - I want my mp3 !

Thanks to all those who helped, I've had a good intro to the
audio subsystems.

Enough to figure out that my existing uaudio (an ALC4080) is not
well supported, and that there is no physicalk output for the
internal video-with-audio, and my display doesn't have any way
to play audio arriving in the HDMI port.

So, to make a long story short, I ordered a cheap uaudio device
from Amazon. Plugged it in, set audiocfg default, and eureka
it just worked!

Happy camper here!

OK, I'm lost. My brain can't seem to wrap itself around all of the

My hardware is pretty standard, just an ASUS "STRIX" motherboard and
a sound bar with USB power and stereo jack connected to Line-Out.

As near as I can tell, all of the various devices exist and are
accessible.

Here are the various settings I can find (and thanks to martin@ for
helping to identify them).

# audiocfg list

(There's also a hdaudio1 for the display/monitor, but not expected
to work since there are no embedded speakers.)

Anyone got a clue on how I can make some sounds here? :-)

SIDEBAR: Most of my music is in Apple iTunes's mp4 format *.m4a (and
a few *.m4p where the protection never got removed). Anyone have a
recomendation on what tool I could use to process these mp4's ?
