Indeed, I am the author.  I am just now finishing up an upgrade that
will understand SCSI tapes.  I am doing some more testing with various
drives.  For those not familiar with Macintosh tar, it is a MacOS port
of John Gilmore's tar program.  It is pretty basic, and doesn't understand
Mac resource forks.  I've also got a start at a command file parser that
would allow more automated operation.
