Now that my machine seems to be relatively happy (IIcx, 5M RAM,
internal & external drives), I've been trying to tune it for better
performance. However, vmstat doesn't seem to do what it's supposed
to. I'm sure I'm not reading avm and free right, but that's a user
error. :) My problem is that vmstat (iostat, too) doesn't tell me
anything about the drives it's connected to. For names of drives, I
get a series of "?0"'s. Does anybody have a system where this stuff
works? Or am I reading it wrong?
