Subject: How do you make a serial tty work?!?

I am trying now to use a serial tty with the IIsi that I have been
working on for the last few days. Since we dont have a null modem, we
did one step better: two modems with a phone cable between them. Using
ZTerm on both the IIsi and the SE/30, we see the typing, so we know its
working. I am using the netbsd.051695 kernel, which has gotten the
farthest for us. I can't figure out whats wrong! It says in the booter
window ser console=1, then garbage characters come out on the
SE/30/terminal... we are running the two modems at 2400, so it SHOULD
work....
any ideas (again!)?
thanks,
Scott
