Can you explain what you mean when you say that OpenGL doesn't support
proper translation math? How would you change glTranslate*()'s
specification?
While OpenGL wasn't designed for games, it _was_ designed to do a good job
on graphics (for simulations, say) and to be _fast_. Given
double-buffering, and assuming hardware acceleration (sigh), isn't that
exactly what a game programmer needs?
