    i'd like to draw your attention to the call for papers for the
2002 edition of freenix (the usenix track dedicated to 
freely-redistributable software).

submitting your work to freenix is a great way of promoting it
work and getting useful feedback from the world.   it also provides
visibility and useful exposure for projects like NetBSD.

the deadline for submissions is November 12, 2001, and you may submit 
either a complete paper, or a 2-5 page extended abstract or summary 
of your work to date.   the web page has full submission details linked
off it.   i am on this year's freenix program committee and i would be 
happy to try and answer any freenix-related questions -- feel free to 
send me an email.
