Actually, not that I've discussed it much with Japanese folks, but after
living here for three years, I'm amazed at how much the Japanese like
America, Americans and American stuff in general. (I mean specifically
the United States here, not the Americas--i.e., North and South--in
general.) If the film "Perl Harbour" could be a big hit here, it doesn't
surprise me at all that the Iwo Jima logo is not a problem. I'm sure I
(being basically Canadian) hate it much more than most Japanese.

This is pretty interesting--I think it's quite different from anything
else a computer project has used--at least that I've ever seen.

Personally, I would really go for something along the lines of the
little dinosaur from Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move. There are even good
NetBSD reasons for going with this (that I won't get into here--I'll let
Christos explain if he feels like it). But maybe I've been in Japan too
long and I'm starting to like "cute" waaaaay to much....
