Advocate it.

NetBSD is fine as it is (and pkgsrc too, which needs advocacy even more).
What needs to be done is making people aware of things. This starts with 
very basic things ("What does NetBSD look like"), and goes all the way 
into the technical details.

Write articles that show how to do every-day things with NetBSD.
Make booths at roadshows, etc.
