Subject: NetBSD-current(ish): No Alt-key in emacs on console

Well I guess the subject says it all.

btw, this is almost certainly not a bug... is there a questions
mailing list? Anyway, my X-terminal has gone again and I've not yet
had a chance to get XFree86-2 on a tape so I'm running on the pc3
console only for a few days...

The Alt-keys used to work as meta kesy in emacs when I was running
386bsd. I have compared NetBSD-current (Nov 6 version) pccons.c with
that from my 386bsd kernel and can't spot anything that looks
related... (there were _lots_ of diffs so I can't be sure). I've
ensured that the "current" termcap database is installed and that the
pc3 entry contains :km: yet Alt-x etc simply gives me an 'x'.

Thanks in advance for any help...

BTW, apart from a single hang on Nov 8, the day after I installed
NetBSD-current it has been very stable. I've re-booted several times
to install new kernels and had a power failure, but otherwise it has
trucked on very solidly (with the modem busy transfering mail/news for
up to 8 hours a day!)
