You're right that the code fragment is bogus. however, the bogus
deinitions will never be made -- you need <sys/types.h> for clnp.h
(for the def'ns of u_short, etc.), and <sys/types.h> pulls in
<machine/endian.h>.
The bogus frag is now gone.
