SLIP is broken in the current source for NetBSD/i386. First of all, I
have to define the "ether" pseudo device just to get the kernel to link
during the final stages of the build (or else "ether_output()" and some other
function are undefined). Secondly, when I boot with this kernel and try
to start SLIP, I get a "Protocol not supported" or some such message.
From that point on no networking services work.
